Weekends are busy times on trails and it can be a bit hard to social distance. My hiking partner for the day and I started our adventure from the downhill skiing parking lot rather than the cross country lot. Picking a different parking lot meant that for the first 2 km of our hike, we were basically alone. It was only once we reached where the two trails met that we started seeing a lot more people. In terms of views, it was only on the way up and the first ten minutes that we saw the outline of mountains in the distance between two cloud layers. At this point I have a running joke with my hiking buddy that whenever he goes out hiking or into nature, that the weather will be out to spite him. Some grey jays came over to steal some muffins. Once they got bored of us, they flew off to harass some other hikers.
