Killen Creek To High Camp

Aug 18, 2018
Very dust (sandy some times) trail. Mosquitoes wre not bad, but flies were a nuisance.
Only one water source before PCT (a board is laid over, so you don't ever need to cross the bridge), which is only ~3 miles away.
We turned left (PCT N). About 3/4-1 miles later, hit Killen Creek. A couple of water falls, as Killen Creek runs down. Clear water. We set up camp in this area (quite a few other tents). Two parties set up camp fire. Totally illegal in the forest fire season. Cause unnecessary smoke that lasted a long time.
We then hiked back to High Camp trail junction and up to High Camp. Really a worthwhile trip. Outstanding view of Mt Adams. Had dinner up there.
Back to camp in time for sunset.
Sunday, we hike along PCT south to Adams Creek. Much bigger than Killen Creek, silty. We didn't bother to cross the rushing water.
