Too warm, snow was soft. Avi danger everywhere.
No one else was doing this route today, which is wise. This should be attempted in colder weather for more solid snow.
Right now, the road is closed, so you need to start from Narada Falls. It's better to take the road. We tried to follow the trail (from GPS map) which disappeared after the bottom of the waterfall. More up and down. On the way back, we took to the road, and glissaded down to the parking lot.
Lane Peak is very steep. I went up and down from the saddle to its southwest. My companion took rope and went up "The Zipper" on the north side. They didn't use rope in the Zipper, as the snow there was solid in the morning. But later, they used rope and went around rocks, which took them forever. I waited at the summit for over an hour! We all came down to the saddle. See the pink lines I draw on the photo.
The view on the top is fabulous. Here's a better panorama view
