Lots of wildflowers, lots of views, lots of marmots :-) A five-star trail for sure.
The trail is easy to follow from the Lake Magog campground up to the Nublet (from where you get 75% of the views anyway). Beyond there, the trail follows a narrow ridge line. Exposure is low, but the trailbed is sloping and loose and there a couple of points that would require care if wet. Beyond the ridge, the trail is intermittent so we followed the slope upwards trying to stick to whatever trail we could find in order to minimize erosion and unnecessary trampling of the alpine plants.
From the summit there are 360-degree views. We could see most of our route in from Citadel Pass and the spirit-sapping Valley of the Rocks; Og Lake and Windy Ridge to the east; Lake Magog, Mt Assiniboine and friends make for a spectacular view to the south. A must-do hike!
