As per usual, we only made our way to the viewpoint along the way to Mount Thurston. Since it was a weekday, there were not too many people on the trail until later in the afternoon when we were returning. The trail, despite the snow was alright once at the top, with occasional route-finding needed past Elk Mountains summit. The trip up to the top of Elk mountain was particularly icy. I found that microspikes were a must, but even with them on I still slipped on some iced-over stairs.
