Very popular. At least to Gothic Basin.
Way too many people camping in Gothic Basin's 2 lakes on this Saturday. If you want to camp, come on weekdays.
We did a day hike, going up to Gothic Peak first, and down halfway, and traverse to Del Campo. There was some very steep section and 1 short but very bushy part in order to get on to the normal climbing track to Del Campo. There, most of my group gave up. Only 2 of us continued. We came back along the normal climbing trail, which is quite easy.
Condition: no crampons or ice axe needed. I carried both. I wore helmet.
Mosquitoes not too bad.
Some flowers, but not a lot.
Gothic Peak is easier and shorter.
Del Campo's top has maybe 2 large rocks that require some maneuvering. Should be easier for long legged folks.
Photos later.
