Needle Peak

We scrambled the Needle Peak, 2090 m, 880 m elevation gain, 5 hours car to car with half an hour at the summit on August 1, 2020. This peak is located in Coquihala summit recreational area with parking next to Coquihala highway.The Needle/Flatiron trail starts right across the creek and is well maintained and marked to the Needle - Flatiron intersection. There is now a marked trail with some rope assists all the way to the Needle summit. Summit block is a fun Class 3 scramble, if you stay on the trail. Any deviation from the trail in the summit block area may easily turn it into Class 4 scramble. It took 3 hours to reach the Needle summit, with half an hour at the summit and 1 1/2 hours to return back to the car.
