SUMMARY: The trail has a few technical slopes that children could find difficult-dangerous near the lookout on the north end. Also take a machete there's 300 meters of heavy raspberries on the east side of the lake, and if your looking for a beach there isn't one.create

Weaver Lake itself is an interesting find. Who knew these kinds of fishing meccas were all around us? The camping here looks interesting if you can get a good spot (car camping mostly), but a few walk-ins might actually get you water-front. I could see cycle touring to here along HWY 7.
The trail is more rugged than one might expect but with minimal elevation gain. Clearly few people hike the whole thing as the dead-fall and brush are to be encountered at least a dozen times.
I felt the trail took longer than 2.5 hours as I was tired. I think this one might as good early season hike for those that are panning to do a coastal hike and want to remind their body what it is like to go over and under obstacles but without the significant elevation gain.
