Angela, Andrew & I spent 2 nights at Elfin Lakes and day tripped up to Diamond Head on the 22nd. Snowshoes were useful but not always necessary, there was some slushy snow along Paul Ridge, micro-spikes were helpful heading down from the saddle below the Gargoyles to Lava Lake as it is very steep and was kind of icy. The snow slog up to Diamond Head was longer than it looked and only Andrew & Angela summited as I ran out of steam on Alice Ridge a ways below the peak. A fun trip well worth doing.
